Research Teams
RAK CAM research will be organized around 8 Interdisciplinary Research Groups, each consisting of 4-5 permanent members; these will be supported by a permanent technical and administrative staff as well as short-term (3 year) post-doctoral researchers.
RAK CAM has established H.H. Sheikh Saqr Al Qasimi Research Fellowship Program to support young scientists in research laboratories associated with RAK CAM.
In addition, several Visiting Professors will be invited to join RAK CAM.
Research Facilities
The research facilities of RAK CAM will include an integrated State-of-the Art system for materials synthesis and preparation, analysis, testing and characterization, together with an advanced research computing capability.
The Materials Characterization facility will include High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope (HRTEM), Scanning Electron microscopes (SEM), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), X-ray Single Crystal Diffractometer, NMR Spectrometers, mass spectrometry, Optical spectroscopic techniques, surface characterization techniques, catalysis, and polymer characterization techniques.
RAK CAM is committed to ensuring that technical innovations and inventions move efficiently from the research bench to the private sector and to developing productive industrial partnerships. The materials characterization facility will serve the local and regional industry and will seek industrial collaborations in joint research projects.
